This is a momentous year for Family Trailer as we are expecting our first little one, Baby P. I for one can't wait to be a Trailer Aunt and just wish I could still offer a place to stay when Melissa and little P make the trek to LA and visit Disneyland (then again, by the time I move back it'll be about the same time "P" number two will be old enough to actually enjoy the happiest place on earth... and I'm not referring to west Hollywood ;)I had a good catch up session with Melissa tonight and we covered some good ground when it comes to her baby shower. I'm glad we both agreed that un-fun mom semifriends of ours should not be invited, mostly because there is high potential for them to deter attention away from Melissa and at this time there is really only room for one baby in the double wide. And although she didn't want to honor my Luna coconut cake request, I think the compromise of alcohol at the shower is more than agreeable. Bellinis and mimosas please!
I also warned Mel P not to expect practical gifts from this end. I don't do Baby genies, Baby Bjorns, or Baby breast pumps... Instead I will most likely show up with a beautiful head scarf for her to wear post delivery with matching muu muu, and a handmade baby's first novel (Because all aspiring writers have to start somewhere. Hopefully Baby P won't be a very tough critic).
