Mint.com is a personal finance planner and tracker. JUST what I needed. Now that I have decent income for the first time in I can't remember, I need to own up to my debt, pay it off and move on like the rest of the grown ups do.
You can add all your bank accounts, credit cards, student loans, credit score, etc and the site will work for you in figuring out ways to invest, whether it's better to pay off the cards you have or transfer the balances to a new one (no, I'm not one of those people who pays my credit cards off each month... someday!), and how to improve your credit score.
Upon analysis, it's clear I have a lot of work to do in the personal finance area. At least I'm not spending my days in a high end retailer. Any shopping I do now is at Old Navy or Target. $20 is much better for my budget than $200.
This is one of the great tools. After seeing a visual of my spending (this isn't my pie chart... mine included more "shopping" "misc" "restaurants" oh the shame), I became very aware of bad habits. Some habits this girl liked to pretend didn't exist.

Great advise. If I'm ever board, I know I can always find some fun things on your blog!
Oops, that's BORED!
Be sure you have checked this outfit out, & be especially wary when asked for money - there's too many outfits around these days preying on people to get their (often meager) resources, tough times or no. Things often look better than they turn out, and the old adage still holds: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is...
Be careful, your Dad
No worries, Dad, it's a free service. I'm sure they make their money from serving ads.
I just couldn't resist adding this... Nick came home Friday night and said "So, I read your blog today, do you really think anyone is going to buy that most of your money is spent on rent, car payments, and groceries? Anyone who barely knows you will know that's a bogus pie chart."
I agreed, and laughed hard. My problems lie in the fact that my money doesn't go to the things it should. I told him it was the sample chart on mint.com's homepage, and just as he might have guessed, a slice of my pie went to retailers.
