Down to the Wire for AI Season 8

It's been awhile since my last post. Internet is down at the house which is beyond annoying. I'm TWO weeks behind my Grey's Anatomy, and am having to relearn how to just watch TV without an additional project to keep me occupied... i.e. blogging.

I finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to post at work (shhh, don't tell ;)

Back to business...

I hope everyone caught American Idol last night. Not only are things heating up more and more with Paula and Simon (seriously with the PDA this season!) but it's the last week until the finale!

I know that I should favor Adam Lambert since I tend to have a thing for guys in eye liner and faux hawks, but for some reason he just doesn't do it for me. Nick made a good point last night, although he has great range, whether ballad or rock song, he always tends to sound the same. Plus it's just too easy to pick the guy who everyone has been touting as this season's favorite. He's clearly going to make it big after the show, so why not let someone else take the title home?

I'm also over my early attachment to Danny Gokey. There is no good reason behind this, other than I'm sort of bored with him.

This brings me to Kris. He and Matt Giraud have been my season favorites since the Top 13. Kris seems to fit the right "pop" AI profile for success. A Carrie Underwood equivalent, if you will. On top of that he is comfortable playing an instrument or flying solo on stage, something that not all contestants this season can say.

Here's one of his songs from last night. He was the only one out of the three who really nailed BOTH performances. I mean, he sang a Kanye song. Hello! Not many Southern staight laced white boys can pull that off. Can the kid get some credit?!

I couldn't actually find the video on youtube, copyright, I'm sure.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed Kris makes it to the finale. According to DialIdol.com Danny is the one who will be going home.
the website makes predictions off of how busy each Idol's phone line was during voting. They claim a 97% accuracy. Only time will tell.
