A few of my favorite things, the Hollywood edition

On dorkspace I've pulled a couple Oprah's and "featured" some of my favorite items of the month in a blog. This posting is more focused on the unexpected everyday parts of LA that have made me fall in love with the city.

  • There is a new shopping district to discover almost every week
  • Actually SEEING the writers on strike at all the studios
  • Knowing every street mentioned in People and Us Weekly

  • Using the Hills as my own version of Citysearch

  • Sunday mornings on the highway, the only time there is NO traffic

  • Last minute concerts annouced by all my favorite up and coming artists are always performing just a block or two away.

  • As much as I complain about it, it's always kind of fun to see my street being used for a filming.

  • At any given moment a VIP party, movie premiere, gallery opening, screening, or TV show taping can pop up on the agenda

  • The gift bags!

  • Everyone dresses in so many layers even though it's 80 year round

  • Pinkberry, California Pizza Kitchen, In n Out, and the Coffee Bean

  • Driving along the PCH

  • No one works a 9 to 5

  • Going out means NETWORKING

  • Morning brunch and Melrose shopping

They call it the City of Angels, I believe LA just might be a slice of excessively graffitied Heaven
