I was talking with someone the other day about the transitional period many of our friends were going through. For example, my friend Megan is about to be married in Sept (after only dating here fiance for a mere 8 years), Melissa is less than one month away from being a mom, another friend, Kim, just custom built the coolest house in Seattle (her building adventure blog is one of my links). Katie is still in school studying yet another program at SPU, this time for her Principal's degree and Jamie is looking into opening her own bridal boutique down in Vegas.
It actually amazes me the great things everyone is doing. From traveling to far places (Amanda's spring line up includes Japan, London, Paris, and Australia... and another former coworker Tracy has been keeping a blog about her move to the land down under) to finding success at home, my friends are sometimes my biggest motivation and influencer. If I'm going to remain chums with them, I suppose I should get my act together and achieve something notable as well.
For now, I am the constant wanderer. My blog isn't exactly about anything in particular, except, perhaps, my outspoken opinion. And I can't quite sit still long enough to unpack my things before I set my sights on something new.
The truth is, although I change my address more than I change my hairstyle, it is the people in my life who will always remain my constant foundation. Throughout all my adventures, I'm gaining great experience. I hope they will someday lead me to something spectacular. Something for which all my chosen family members can be proud of me.
If not... I'll hold onto my fallback plan of composing great novels about my successful friends and give them all a living legacy :)
