Fair Weather Fans

Although the Mariner's have had a less than stellar season, Friday's game against the Yankees was a big one. A newbie, pitcher Brandon Morrow, was given his first opportunity to start when the scheduled pitcher was still suffering from back spasms.

The result was inconceivable. Morrow gave up only 5 hits and shut the Yankees out until the 8th inning. Needless to say, Safeco field was in an uproar.

My friend Kim and I arrived quite late, the 6th inning to be exact. This wasn't received very well among other fans around us. How were we to know this would be such a historic game? Or that the M's would be bumping their opponents down to 4th place?
All I can say is the last three innings we did see were some of the best I've ever attended. Our third row seats weren't too shabby either!
