Fur jackets and accessories.
The ultimate in keeping you warm during sub zero months without compromising style, this controversial look is white hot. And while there are many faux fur styles out there as well, it's not as eco friendly as you might think. How to partake in fur AND have a clear conscience? My advice is go vintage. Search your grandmother's closet or shop a consignment store. The prices will be lower, and while not an ideal solution, my rationalization is these animals have passed on years ago and my money is now contributing the small boutique not the fur industry.

Diane Kruger in a cropped fur jacket. Her entire ensemble is a huge hit in my book!

I'm also a fan of the trapper hat. This one's from JCrew.

Cropped jackets in other materials and styles are also in. These are much more tailored than the oversized boyfriend blazers from the fall.

Fifties silhouettes: Full skirts, cinched waists, higher waists, and sweetheart necklines. I hope that cigarette pants make a comeback too.

One shoulder dresses and tops are still going strong. I also have an inkling that this will be a popular style on the red carpet during the 2010 award season.

And finally, what would resort be without a nautical theme of some sort? Skip the beach color and fabrics and this year stick to rope details and stripes in red, black and navy.

Chanel has an amazing accessories line for resort which includes resin cuffs like this one and a collection of Coco figurine pieces.
