Guilty Pleasure: Coffee Table Books

In addition to collecting antique etiquette books, or antique anything for that matter, I have another decorative love: coffee table books. I'm well aware that no one has actually come to visit, sat down on my couch, and thumbed through any of the books so thoughtfully displayed on my furniture. Still, I love their hardback covers, editorial images, and superfluous subjects. I can think of no better way to trim a home than filling it with art-inspired books. Recently, my library has grown; Fifty Dresses that Changed the World and A Privileged Life: Celebrating WASP Style are now proudly sitting in the living room.

Though my guests remain more entertained by their hostess than the literature around them (which, of course is how it should be) I can attest that each and every page and picture have been viewed and admired by their proud owner.
