Why on Earth would you get a tattoo that says
“Los Angeles” ?!?

Let me tell you…
No, first let me apologize to my mom who tried so desperately to get me to SWEAR I wouldn’t get another tattoo. Sorry Mum, there was a reason why I couldn’t make that promise.

This latest tattoo is actually the first of mine to hold meaning (aside from Alpha Phi’s forget-me-not flowers, my first tattoo, which have since been covered).

This past year has been a complete blur to me. LA is the first place I moved where I was completely detached from family and “on my own”. It was an opportunity to be spontaneous and young. Luckily, I was able to make the move with one of my best friends. Not only did she become my roommate, but we learned to rely on each other in a place where we knew no one.
I quickly became enamored with my new surroundings. Just minutes from the beach, and in the middle of all the industry action, LA is truly a perfect fit. The first few months spent here felt like one VERY long vacation.
As time passed, the novelty of all the new experiences in Hollywood has faded. I still love the continuous season of sun, streets lined with palm trees, and eclectic characters walking the streets.

With the latest chapter of my life beginning to unfold, I am faced with the likelihood of leaving my beloved home. As the end draws near, I'm surprised at my determination to return to LA sooner than later.

Amanda and I are ALWAYS talking about a new tattoo. We wanted something to represent this time in our life and this place. I finally decided to go the simple route. Instead of wings, sun, waves, or palm trees, I will always be able to see "Los Angeles" and remember how it is so much more than a place to me.

I can't help it, but I must comment! NOT ANOTHER ONE! What is a mother to do! Now can you promise not to get another one. Please. Or should I say pretty please. Oh the challenges of motherhood. Love, mum
