I'll just cut to the chase and jump right into my favorite part, critiquing what everyone wore. Below are my highlights and low lights of the evening.
Give these stylists a bonus!
Marion Cotillard plays the lead in La Vie en Rose, which I have not seen. However, if her look here reflects her performance in the movie in the slightest, I'm off to see it ASAP. She looks lovely and timeless in this dress.
Although, I'm not the biggest fan of Amanda Bynes (she's cute and tolerable, but just doesn't seem to have taken the leap into challenging roles yet) I have to say she looks great in this goddess dress! I also appreciate that her hair seems to be closer to its natural shade as opposed to the platinum blonde she's been trying to pull off recently.
Marcia gets my award for Best Dressed at the SAGS (which I'm sure is something she called home about). I'm forecasting royal blue to be very popular this season, and the color couldn't look better with her red hair. I'm not crazy about the open-toe shoe decision, I think a nice point or peep toe might have been more appropriate, but hey, no one's perfect. She's still absolutely glowing!
These women should begin hunting for a new stylist (might I suggest starting with starving students from the FIDM campus?)
Ok, I don't quite get Rebecca Gayheart’s dress here. The extra set of ruffles seem unnecessary. The gown does have one redeeming quality though: When her husband McSteamy was asked if he knew who she was wearing, he confidently replied "Marchesa" Seriously! Does she know what a find her hubby is?!?!
The dress Ellen Page is wearing (my sources tell me its Zac Posen) would be great for a company cocktail party, but it has no business appearing at the only Red Carpet event of 2008. Additionally, I'd like to send some select A Phi sorority sisters her way to learn how to spray tan and hire a MAC makeup artist.
Rumors have already been flying about Angelina being preggers, and this dress only confirms it. In some shots you can actually see the bump underneath. For a pregnant lady dress, this muu muu isn't bad, it's actually kind of pretty (I could do without the neapolitan color scheme), but if she isn't preggo, I wonder WHAT drove her to this costume decision.
Once again, it's not the dress on Ashley Tisdale I don't like. There actually weren't too many "Dont's" on the Carpet. I just wonder if post rhinoplasty, Ashley sometimes mistakes herself for the other Ashlee (Simpson). Maybe it's just that they both have the same surgeon who is working on a one size fits all nose.
