Finding routine when there is none

It's the end of day three in Tucson, and while things with the trade show are moving along ahead of schedule, there are still a few things in my own life I need to keep up with: weekly lectures and homework from my last two classes at FIDM (plus I'm a week out from midterms), trying to continue my efforts to gain running mileage, and wrapping up some last details from LA that I just didn't have time to address before the move.

When my daily schedule is not quite my own, it throws my uber-planned preferencs for a loop. Nick said something a couple night's ago that really stayed with me. He told me I just need to find routine at times when there is no routine. His life is just about as erratic as mine, and trying to get in shape in between business trips or accomplish any sort of home project seems just about impossible.

Somehow, his advice seems to be working. By shifting my way of thinking just a bit I was able to turn my class work in early, go running the past two days, take care of bank issues (my bank in LA hasn't branched out to New Mexico... not that I blame them), and have extra time for reading and sneaking in some cat naps.

Now that travel will be a constant for me, I'm glad I had some good advice early on to help me adjust to this new jet set lifestyle.
