My favorite things; On the road edition

It's time once again to play Oprah and share with all of you some of my favorite items on the market. This will help further convince everyone how cool and product savvy I am, but mostly it's because I figure if I love these things so much, maybe one or two other people will too... Bumble and Bumble hair powder: It's been out for quite some time, but I've always been somewhat reluctant to buy it. As an avid baby powder user, I guess I just didn't see the point. Why spend $30 on something, when a 99 cent alternative can do the same thing? Now I know... Unless you're blonde, baby powder will leave an ashy trace behind. B&B hair powder comes in five shades to match any color. I use the red and dark blonde together which also help color my roots until I can go back to my hair dresser.

Oversized turtleneck sweater: My newest one is from Zara, the growing boutique chain that reminds me so much of shopping in Amsterdam. I'm always cold but don't want bulky winter clothing to make me resemble Frosty. This sweater is actually pretty thick, however, I pair it with my leggings or skinny jeans (depending on how cold it is) which allows some shape to come through.

Posh, a novel by Lucy Jackson: Although not an unauthorized trashy yet juicy biography about the imported British Beckham, it's not quite the next classic to join the ranks of Capote or Vonnegut either. The book is about going to an elite New York prep school. Imagine Gossip Girl wrapped up in 250 pages. It's a great book to read after a long challenging day and seems just a step above reading the latest US Weekly or People. (side note: the women's book blog Trashionista brings some interesting facts about the author of this book and her supposed non-existence http://www.trashionista.com/2006/11/who_is_lucy_jac.html)

Netflix Unlimited Watch Now: Recently Netflix removed time limits on their Watch Now feature which allows subscribers to watch movies instantly via their website. Since I'm not home to receive movies off my queue, it's nice to have some means to access a movie library.

L'Occitane Citrus Verbena shower gel: While not solely a traveling product, I discovered it on the road and thus qualifies it for this blog. It's the perfect after workout shower gel: crisp and refreshing (my post-run showers are always cold to help cool me off. I want to avoid being George in the Seinfeld episode where his showers after the gym just "didn't take".

Finally, the best all time on the road product (I never leave home without it) are the travel size MAC wipes: they remove makeup, cleanse and moisturize all in one no hassle disposable cloth. LOVE THEM!!!

I think my next Ope's Favorite Things blog will be Detox after the trip edition.
