I'm on a roll here, can't stop now.

I would like to introduce the small towns of New Mexico to this handy new invention called "the straightening iron." Similar to a curling iron, it is a heated styling product which works wonders for people with thick semi curly hair like mine.

is what I should look like when I walk into the salon... not out of it. I know it's unfair to apply my LA standards to the small town hair salon. All I'm asking for is a bit of product and maybe even a round brush blowout through the mess.

I figure this is about the best I can do with my own hair...

...as a professional stylist I don't think it's too much to expect a step up from my amateur efforts.

Sidenote: Am I the only one who sometimes thinks when you hit "instant fix" in photo editor programs your computer will come back with a picture of Heidi Klum?

That or display the message "Lost cause, good luck out there"
