Last weekend my very dear friend, Lindsay, hosted a clothing swap at her home in Lebanon, OR. It was the perfect excuse to get out of town for a couple days and visit Lindsay and her family.
I had so much fun helping to stage her living room as a boutique and watching all her guests sort through the different sweaters and dresses. Each donated item seemed to have a story that was shared by the original owner to its new recipient. An added perk to the swap is all the space I now have in my closet, although some of that room has already been replaced by the "new" clothes I chose to bring home. A bright magenta blouse with shoulder pads was an especially prized acquisition.
Party goers wearing a few new pieces and surveying the denim and t-shirt table
Arms full of things to try on!
Lindsay let me merchandise some outfits for the "boutique"
Shoe and accessories wall. As Tim Gunn would say, "Use them wisely"
Lindsay also happens to live near Tadmor, a camp we used to go to every spring break in middle school and high school. The weather was so amazing last weekend we decided we just had to go visit for old times sake and walk around.
It's sort of incredible how certain places somehow seem to freeze in time. Although the camp had seen some improvements and new buildings, to me, it looked just as it had 12 years ago. For just a moment, I wished I could go back to our weeks at camp where we were footloose and fancy free.
The cabin we were usually assigned to
View of a valley and some mountains... which I'm sure all have names... as you drive away from the camp.
Thanks for having me Lindsay. I had a wonderful time with you and the boys!
